McKinley Memorial Library News

Governor Strickland proposes cuts to the Public Library Fund! Proposed cuts would devastate McKinley Memorial Library!

McKinley Memorial Library relies on state funding.
If these cuts are made, McKinley Memorial Library would lose 50% of its funding
beginning July 1st.

McKinley Memorial Library has always been a vital part of our community,
but especially now, at a time when because of the economic situation,
the Library is used and needed more than ever.

What does this mean to you?

Hours the Library is open would be drastically reduced, limiting service and Internet use. Purchasing new materials, including adult and children's books, DVDs, music CDs, books on tape, newspapers, magazines, and many other items, would have to be drastically cut. This will make a huge impact on our community.

Your Library needs your help to survive.

Your voice must be heard by the Governor and our Legislators.

Here's how you can help!

Contact the Governor, your State Senator, and your State Representative.
Their contact information is below. Call them, write them, email them with your comments. Let them know how essential your Library is to you, why you need and use the Library, and what a difference your Library makes to you and the community.

Ask them to keep Public Libraries funded.

Your comments can make a difference!

Thank you,
Director Patrick Finan, and the Staff of the McKinley Memorial Library
